Valorais' Flakey Pie Crust

This recipe is from my Dad's sister, my aunt. My sister Kay makes it and swears it's the best she's ever tasted.

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 1/4 cup shortening

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 egg, well beaten

  • 5 tbsp. water

  • 1 tbsp. cider vinegar
  • Cut shortening into flour and salt.
    Combine egg, water, vinegar.
    Pour liquid into flour mixture all at once.
    Blend with spoon until flour is moistened.
    Roll out. ( Can be re-rolled without toughening.)
    Can be refridgerated 2 weeks.
